Remuneration:
The salary for the dual study programme increases with each year of study and starts at €1,400 per month.
Start and duration:
The dual study programme lasts six semesters (three years). It starts on 1 September in odd-numbered years. You will alternate every three months between varied theory phases at Leibniz-Fachhochschule in Hanover and exciting practical placements within the company.
Required school-leaving qualification:
You need a general or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, with good grades in Mathematics, English and Computer Science.

In the dual study programme in IT Security, you will prepare for a field in which qualified IT security experts are in high demand. The programme is wide-ranging and combines solid Computer Science knowledge with a clear focus on information and cyber security. In the dual study programme in IT Security at Maurer Electronics GmbH, you combine Computer Science with modern know-how in the field of cyber security. At Leibniz-Fachhochschule, you will learn the theoretical fundamentals of IT security: from cryptography and network security to operating systems, databases, IT forensics and secure software development, as well as risk analysis and data protection.
During the practical phases at the company, you put your knowledge into practice straight away: by developing and secure applications, analysing security incidents, creating security concepts and helping defend against real IT attacks. You will also gain insights into IT forensics, where digital traces are investigated and evaluated after attacks. You will learn to identify vulnerabilities in systems and implement effective protective measures. You will also deepen your knowledge of secure software development. In addition, you get to actively contribute to building and optimising highly secure IT infrastructures.
Thanks to the close link between theory and practice, you will be trained step by step to become an IT security expert, with the aim of confidently mastering complex security challenges and protecting digital systems in the long term.
Remuneration during the dual study programme in IT Security
We offer an attractive remuneration package that increases with each year of study. In addition, you receive holiday pay, an annual bonus and, where applicable, support towards tuition fees.
At Bundesdruckerei GmbH, your remuneration based on a 40-hour workweek is:
- 1st year: €1,421.03
- 2nd year: €1,497.09
- 3rd year: €1,742.95
