After ten years, the Bundesdruckerei Group is handing over the operation of the ICAO Public Key Directory to Netrust – and looks back on a successful international infrastructure project. Today, the PKD enables 107 countries to exchange e-passport certificates securely and efficiently, thereby forming a central foundation for modern border controls worldwide. In this way, Bundesdruckerei has made a significant contribution to making global travel safer and more interoperable.

Markus Bleher is being appointed to the management board of D-Trust GmbH from 1 September. Together with his management colleague Dr Kim Nguyen, who has been leading D-Trust since June 2012, he aims to tap into the growing business opportunities for trust services.

Dr Alexander Koenen is new Managing Director at Xecuro GmbH. He has been working at the Bonn location since 1 August 2023 and will head the Bundesdruckerei Group company alongside Marcus Milas. 

At the 24th cybersec.lunch on 6 July 2023, speakers discussed the necessary framework conditions for artificial intelligence.

In future, quantum chips that work with light could play a central role toward making quantum computers possible. Bundesdruckerei and Q.ANT have developed a prototype.
