Xecuro GmbH is making an important contribution to Germany’s digital sovereignty. This new company of the Bundesdruckerei Group is setting up an infrastructure for the communication of classified information in public administration and is responsible for the highly secure operation and further development of the system. The solution enables the confidential and secret transfer of audio, video and data in the official sphere. In order to meet the high protection requirements, safety is the focus in all processes right from the outset.
At the locations in Bonn and Berlin, Xecuro’s IT professionals are working on socially relevant and responsible projects. The company is looking for experts in many areas, including Security Operations & Management, Security Consulting, Data Centre Operations & Management, System and Network Administration, Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Logistics, Secure Client Management, Service Desk and Service Delivery Management.

How would you describe the core business of Xecuro?
Xecuro is a crucial element in Germany’s IT security and this activity is now more demanding than ever before. We want our clients, which include the authorities in the public sector, to be able to communicate simply but securely with each other. To this end, we provide a uniform, closed collaboration platform.
The tasks and processes are matched to each other. What about employee benefits?

The societal significance of our work extends far beyond that of other employers. As part of the German Bundesdruckerei Group, Xecuro is an IT security service provider for the German State – and as a result, we are involved in ensuring the domestic and external security of Germany. Responsibility for the operation of a system delivering secure communication at an administrative level is an unrivalled task.

As part of the Bundesdruckerei Group, Xecuro belongs to a federal state enterprise. How agile can your work here be?
Since we are in the process of setting up the company, agile work methods are a necessary element. In the early phases in particular, employees require the flexibility to provide support to other fields of activity. We have no overly rigid hierarchies and our fast communication and decision-making channels are allowing us make fast progress. We work together in teams – we are all working towards the same aim and support each other.
What motivated you to join Xecuro?
I still find it an exciting prospect that a completely new company is being set up in the field of top-level security that is driven by an awareness for quality and bolstered with sufficient funding. I quickly felt the urge to get involved and help shape the company. Here we have the opportunity to create better security in the field of public authorities. The high social relevance of the tasks also appeals to me.
What makes Xecuro different from other high-security businesses?
Xecuro takes a holistic approach to security: confidentiality, physical and IT security are treated as individual units, not as separate topics. We are not just working to produce certificates, we are generating real-world security solutions.
What challenges are you confronted with in your work?
There are no ready-made solutions here – we have to work everything out ourselves. We have to produce innovative solutions jointly for both old and new problems. Instead of following well-trodden paths, we are breaking new ground.
