Supports the INSIKA method
Additional memory for accounting data and additional security functions
The TIM Card for taxi companies protects taximeter data against manipulation. It supports alls the functions of the so-called INSIKA method based on the latest technical specifications. INSIKA stands for ‘integrated security solution for cash registers processing metered values’.
The specifications of the INSIKA method meet the highest security requirements for business transactions that must be recorded. These include, in particular, the international standards for signature creation devices and all basic requirements of the fiscal authorities. Bundesdruckerei's TIM Card also features memory for accounting data and programmed security functions. It supports the special requirements for interfaces.
In December 2021, the OS of the TIM Card Taxi will be changed from Smartcard JCOP 2 to Smartcard JCOP 3. This also means that the signature procedure will change from ECDSA 192 with SHA-1 to ECDSA 256 with SHA-256. Taximeter manufacturers and data service operators must ensure that their systems can process data with the latest encryption standard. Public authorities will need customized testing software. Find out here what you need to bear in mind during the changeover.
