Signed Data Service

We will be pleased to assist you with any questions you may have about our Signed Data Service ASP solution. Our FAQs section may already have the answer to your question. If not, please feel free to contact us by phone.

General information

Put simply, a digital signature is a digital seal which identifies the sender without any doubt (authenticity) when data is electronically transmitted and which warrants the original condition of the data transported (integrity). The digital signature should not be confused with encryption of the signed document itself. The content of the signed data can be read by anybody irrespective of the digital signature. The qualified digital signature has the same effect as a personally made signature and is to protect the electronic documents against manipulation during transmission.

Two options are available here:

  • Supplied as follow-up verification, i.e. with the signature you automatically order subsequent verification and hence make life easier for your customers.

  • With a verification client; the check software can be downloaded here.

Yes, we currently offer p7s, pk7 and the PDF-inline signature.

We normally sign on behalf of the customer using a multicard. Multicards are issued to data centre employees and contain one of our pseudonyms.

Security

Digital signatures are based on complex mathematical methods that use prime numbers. The calculation of the two underlying keys (private key and public key) is very complicated and this is the prime source of security.

As a rule, we transmit all data with 128-bit SSL encryption. This type of encryption very effectively protects your data and is also used in many critical areas of business, such as Banking.

Cost of our Signed Data Service

The costs depend on the volume of use. For an individual offer, please contact our sales unit: vertrieb@d-trust.net

We charge a once-off connection fee of €1,000. This fee also covers extensive support during connection. If you require individual adjustments to business processes, these additional costs will be billed separately. You will also have to pay your Internet provider's fees for data transmission.

Signed Data Services

All electronic documents can be passed on to SDS (PDF, TIFF, XML). In the case of structured formats, it is possible to convert data formats. If you should have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

The documents are sent to us per SOAP web service (SOAP 1.1/1.2, https, SSL) or requested from the archive. We use a certificate to secure the connection.

With our SDS ASP, you use your own system to connect to SDS via web services. However, a frontend is possible with our Business Portal product.

The SDS system has a standard availability of 97 percent. This includes regular maintenance intervals for maintenance and product updates. If you should have any other questions regarding the SLAs, please feel free to contact us.

This generally takes just a few seconds. At peak loads (e.g. at the beginning of the month), this can take longer.

The normal size is 2MB, however, this can be changed subject to agreement.

It usually takes just a few seconds to create a signature or to verify it.

Yes, large quantities of documents can also be transmitted. The transmission speed, however, depends on the performance of your Internet Connection.

You receive the signed/verified documents, including the verification report on the result, either per web service from the short-term archive and per e-mail to the address stated by you.
