Berlin, 6 February 2018 – On 1 February and as scheduled, Dr. Stefan Hofschen (50) took over the helm as CEO of Bundesdruckerei GmbH. He succeeds Ulrich Hamann who is retiring after 14 years at the head of the company. Back in May 2017, the Supervisory Board had appointed Dr. Hofschen CEO with effect as of 1 February 2018. Christian Helfrich (CFO) remains the second member of the management board.

“We look forward to working together with Dr. Hofschen. Besides his convincing personality, he has an excellent reputation and is respected in the industry. Under his leadership, Bundesdruckerei will push ahead with the move that began a few years back to become a diverse security company and to open up new business fields,” says Prof. Willi Berchtold, Chairman of Bundesdruckerei's Supervisory Board.

“I am very much looking forward to my new tasks at Bundesdruckerei. In Germany, the company ranks among the best positioned players in the industry with regard to secure identities,” said Dr. Hofschen. “Digitalisation is triggering a considerable need for action among customers in business and the administration. In addition to being an experienced and reliable partner during this transformation process, Bundesdruckerei also has the potential to make a huge contribution towards the security that is being increasingly demanded for digital infrastructures.”
