Bundesdruckerei at Hannover Messe

Security, efficiency and compliance for medium-sized companies; Exhibitor at the BITKOM Innovation Area, Industry 4.0, Hall 7 (booth C04)

Berlin/Hanover – At Hannover Messe, Bundesdruckerei is presenting its latest secure business process solutions for medium-sized companies. "Bundesdruckerei has advanced from an analogue printing company to become a supplier of high-tech solutions and products, so that we are in an excellent position to advise medium-sized companies in the manufacturing industry," says Ulrich Hamann, CEO of Bundesdruckerei GmbH. The know-how that Bundesdruckerei has acquired over many decades as a high security company was now being offered to the private sector. The motto of this year's Hannover Messe from 13 to 17 April is "Integrated Industry – Join the Network". Bundesdruckerei will be present at the BITKOM Innovation Area, Industry 4.0, in the Digital Factory in Hall 7 (booth C04). At Hannover Messe, the Digital Factory is the leading trade fair for integrated processes and solutions. This is where suppliers will present their solutions for the smart factory of tomorrow.

Using Bundesdruckerei's sign-me web application, companies can handle legally binding communications with customers online. This so-called eContracting reduces handling time significantly and is completely paperless. The sign-me function can be easily integrated online into the company's processes while the contract partners can sign electronically using the new German ID card or a conventional signature card. In the world of electronic communications, the online signature replaces the handwritten signature. The required signature certificates are issued by D-TRUST, Bundesdruckerei's TSP. "With solutions and certificates from Bundesdruckerei, suppliers can rely on a trustworthy infrastructure and secure handling of online transactions," says Mr Hamann.

In addition to the sign-me application, Bundesdruckerei is also showcasing the new Business Portal. This portal is the key to the easy exchange of data and documents, such as electronic invoices, between companies and partners. While companies can still use customary programmes to issue invoices,  the portal converts incoming data to the formats requested by the business partners. This is particularly useful for suppliers to large corporations who frequently request that their suppliers submit invoices in a specific format. Instead of adapting the format for each customer, Business Portal users send all of their invoices in their own format to the portal where the data is converted and then passed on in accordance with the highest security standards. When necessary, these invoices can also be electronically signed.

"These solutions are centred around security, efficiency and compliance. This means that we can free resources within the company, so that it can focus on its core business," says Mr Hamann. "We want to support medium-sized companies in Germany during the digital transformation."
