Security concept for data objects

A graded security concept has been developed in co-operation with the Federal German Office for Information Security in order to ensure optimum protection and management of the data stored in the contact chips. According to this concept, the contact chip of an electronic office ID card is prepared in the as-supplied condition to receive different data objects, but real storage can only be carried out by authorised staff at the public administrations. Additional access protection requires the ID card holder's explicit consent for reading particularly sensitive data.

This means that the issuing public authorities alone define the desired functionalities as well as the infrastructural integration and introduction of electronic office ID cards.
