ID systems

Personalisation
Each individual ID document becomes unique only when the document's individual and personal data is applied, i.e. when the document is personalised. The technical processes that help to ensure the security and uniqueness of ID documents are just as diverse and complex as the requirements posed by customers and their specific personalisation projects.
A host of criteria - including, for instance, the number of documents to be personalised, the type of document, the materials used, or the integration of a chip - influence the design and implementation of the optimum personalisation solution. In this context, the requirements of central personalisation differ significantly from those of systems with a distributed configuration.
Depending on customer requirements, Bundesdruckerei offers complete system solutions (e.g. to set up personalisation centres) or specific system components which can be used in central and distributed personalisation scenarios. In the interest of continuous improvement of general security standards, we have combined our many years of experience in the field of optical personalisation processes (e.g. inkjet and laser personalisation) with innovative electrical personalisation methods which permit the processing and signing of electrically personalised data.
PERSOTEC®, the high-performance solution suite for the optical and electrical personalisation of ID documents, forms the basis for many personalisation projects of Bundesdruckerei.
The group company MAURER Electronics produces the ME5000 laser personalisation machine for the personalisation of ID1 and ID3 documents.
In co-operation with D-TRUST GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bundesdruckerei, we also offer our customers a full range of trust center services as well as service and consultancy for the implementation and operation of secure PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) solutions.
