2nd - 6th March 2010
Public Sector Parc, Hall 9, Stand D 80
The protection of identities is undisputably one of the major challenges of the 21st century. However, providing proof of a person's identity no longer just comes down to secure ID documents. In fact, securing identities means that complex systems are protected from abuse and manipulation and that personal data in numerous electronic business processes is secured.
Bundesdruckerei remains focused on these needs and presents innovative solutions at this year's CeBIT for the entire system chain from the enrolment of sensitive data and the production of identification documents and their authentication to applications of these documents in the digital world.
This year's stand is divided into five key areas:
Government:
A highlight in this area is the enrolment application for mobile pre-enrolment, both through our portable reader Visotec® Mobile 100 as well as through an iPhone®. We will also exhibit the update terminal for German registration offices which can be used, for instance, to modify the address stored in the chip of the new ID card.
eIdentity:
With the new ID card we can identify ourselves in the digital world and thereby increase the security of online transactions. We are demonstrating possible scenarios such as opening an online bank account, concluding a prepaid mobile phone contract and purchasing computer games using age verification.
Mobility:
A reading device is needed to use the new ID card online; it is here that Bundesdruckerei and its partners are working on the use of NFC (Near Field Communication) handsets. On show will be an application for registering with Deutsche Bahn using a mobile phone and the new ID card in order to rent a bike - "Call a bike" no matter where and when. We will also present Bundesdruckerei's service fleet which provides Germany's registration offices with equipment and advice.
Verification:
Our latest document reader Visotec ® Expert 600 will be launched at this year's CeBIT. We are demonstrating both modern border control applications as well as private sector applications where the need to authenticate ID documents is prevalent, such as car rentals.
Business:
This area focuses on our products regarding electronic signature cards which can be issued locally and used for applications such as ELSTER, the electronic tax return, or electronic waste notification. We will also present our integration services for service providers which are required to implement the necessary infrastructure for using the new German identity card.
